Hi All,

Im almost decided on either the 32 or 40 Sammy but Im a bit cinfused with the numbers and letters Samsung use to distinguish the models.

Namely, whats the difference between the LE40R73BD and BDX and the LE40R74.

Also, are there any promos kicking about, cheapest I can find a 40 for is £916.

Thanks in advance

Rich

OK, here goes:

LE - Product type
40 - Screen size
R7 - Series
3 - Colour of bottom trim
B - Main colour? ie B=Black*
D - Digital tuner
Anything after that doesn't make a difference.

*Not 100% sure of this, but since it doesn't seem to change it doesn't matter!

So to answer your questions:

whats the difference between the LE40R73BD and BDX and the LE40R74.

The BD or BDX are the same thing. The full suffix is actually 'BDX/XEU', but most stockists don't bother quoting the full number (they just disagree on where the cut-off point is!).

The difference between the R73 & R74 is the colour of the bottom trim - R73 is blue trim (exclusive to Currys) and the R74 is silver trim (available everywhere else).

Also, are there any promos kicking about

Look in the 'Promotional Codes' thread!

Hope that helps clear things up! :)

Thanks for the reply, pretty much no difference then.

Thanks and rgds

Just found the LE40R for £859 without freeview (40R72BX) and £895 with freeview (73BD) from Dixons with promo codes - gotta be the deal of the day.......

Cracking Deal - Back at £949.00 - Hopefully might go back down in the new year.

Available in Currys (Instore) for £969

Ironically the 42" Plasma is there for £899

Waiting for the price to fall below £900 :lease:
