    Hi there :)

Just a quickie for my first question!

I've got this LCD, very nice it is too!, but when i'm tried playing my PS2 on it the graphics were very chunky..not very nice at all. Looks very low rez.

    Is that normal?

Also, how do i select HD in Gran Turismo 4? Cant see the option anywhere.

    Thanks all

How is your PS2 connected to the TV ? Are you using component ? If you're using scart, composite or RF especially the latter two then the picture quality won't be very good. If your not using a component cable then you won't be able to access the HD options.

    SCART.

Will component connection improve the visuals quite a lot? Can you get them for PS2s?

    Thanks for the reply :)

Well as far as consoles go at the moment component is the best type of connection. However for the most part UK consoles don't take advantage of this ability or in the case of the PS2 the UK games. I believe all PS2's support high definition via component but not many PS2 games do and those that do tend to be the NTSC versions. Component will probably give you better picture quality but unless you have US/Japanese consoles and games probably not that much better. As far buying component cables for the PS2 GAME do their own brand. If you want the offcial one then it's much harder to find here in the UK. You might find them online somewhere.

The simple fact is, it looks low res because it is low res. ;)

PS2 games are all running in 640x480i or lower, so you can't expect them to look fantastic when scaled to 1366x768 on a 26" screen.

With regard to the GT4 part of the question. HD (1080i) is only available in the US and JAP verions of the game (which looks stunning btw!). For some reason they ripped it from the UK version.
