Almost a year ago I bought a Samsung HT-Z310 home Cinema System along with a 42" Samsung LCD (Series 6). For the best part of 11 months the HT-Z310 worked fine, and the 5.1 surround has always worked well. The problems began when I was playing DVD's; they would occasionally freeze for a second or two, and in some cases would freeze completely and the unit makes a noise like it is searching for something. It also, on occasions, would change chapter on it own to a completely different part of the DVD.
The unit has been sent back twice now for repair and each time they have told me that they have changed the 'Loader/Laser'. The problem still persists and they company concerned does not seem able to diagnose the issue.
As I mentioned, for a long time the unit played DVD's fine, and now it does not without freezing up. Sometimes it can take a few minutes for this to happen, other times it might take the best part of an hour, but it always happens eventually.
Does anyone know of this issue and any way it might be fixed?
I have updated the firmware at the request of Samsung technical support, but the issue still remains.
If anyone has any help or ideas they would be greatly appreciated.
