I have a Pioneer 575 dvd player connected to a Panny TX26LXD60 lcd via component. I'm thinking of updating to an upscaling dvd player and I'm considering the Samsung HD870 (for the bargain price of less than £60). Having read various posts I wonder whether I'll really see a difference in quality or whether I may as well stick to the Pioneer, which has always been pleasing, and wait until HD/BluRay settles down.

    Any views/experience would be welcome.

Very likely your LCD will do a better job than a budget player.
