Hi folks, just wondering if anyone has the Samsung 850 HDMI enabled dvd player, (currently priced at £99 at comet) - what I would like to know, is firstly if there is a noticeable pic quality improvement for watching DVDs with these HDMI players -- compared with say, a good Sony DVD player with Progressive Scan via component output ?

Secondly, is it possible to connect a Sky+ box or Freeview to one of these DVD players through scart and then get it upscaled etc and output to the TV through the HDMI output, ie to get "near HD-like" pic quality from Sky Digital ?

Or alternatively, if I were to connect Sky/Freeview to my current Sony prog scan DVD player , is it possible to view the Sky on my tele via the component output of the DVD player , and would this give better pic quality ? than just connecting directly via scart.

Thanks, any advice much appreciated :)
