Samsung Have i been rip off

    Hi All great forum here first post
    I have a Samsung 61 Inch SP61K3HX Rear Projection TV
    With I purchase new on 24 June 2007 the set was on display for 2weeks
    At the store
    On the 21 Aug 2007 it went in for repair (Picture look as it was a negative photo)
    And it is still in the repair shop as we type
    I rang the shop today to find out how long it will be and ask how many hours on the lamp after reading info here on lamp hrs this is the reply I got back 3,009hrs:mad:
    I have the set for 7weeks the repair shop 6week
    Should I be asking for a replacement set?

    Demand a full refund which you are entitled to for a number of reasons.

    You are entitled to to expect any repair to the set to be completed within a reasonable timescale which on a brand new tv I would think a month would exceed that.

    Secondly and far more importantly, if those lamp hours are correct then they can be proven to have lied to you as it was impossible for you to reach that figure in your time of ownership even if the set was on 24 hours a day.

    If it was me I would be back in the store this morning informing them that you require an immidiate refund plus a little extra as compensation or you will be going straight to trading standards as you have been mis sold the tv in the first place as it clearly had not only been on display in the store for 2 weeks

    Just be aware this is a UK forum, so references to "Trading Standards" may not apply in Australia, and your consumer laws may also be different to the UK.

    All Good the store is replacing it with a new JVC 56HD
