Samsung Galaxy - is registration required

Do the latest Samsung Galaxy Tablets and phones require you to register the device like Apple products? I don't want to create an account when I purchase the device, I just want to be able to use it straight away.

Not as far as I am aware unless you want to use Samung Apps (which most can live without anyway).
