Question Samsung Firmware Update 1160

Whilst I realize a number of people are experiencing the 2016 KS Tv's turning on to a blank screen since the recent 1160 FW update, am I the only one who has seen dramatic difference in the PQ? especially in terms of coulour? Prior to the update I had a Stellar picture with very accurate colours on my KS7500 on notmal 1080 TV (Sky & Freesat) now it seems to have a sepia overtone! 4K HDR seems fine though. My wife noticed it instantly & asked what I had done! which was nothing but the TV had done an auto update to 1160.

Anyone else found this issue?

I'm getting the black screen on startup, whilst using virgin.
I get around it by going to source, flick off virgin then back on again, and all is fine.
Not.noticed any sync problems yet.
This is only since the 1160 update, And is a pain in the A**.
Samsung please sort this out !!!!!
 
I haven't seen a difference in the picture quality, but definitely suffering from the blank screen on startup.

My workaround so far has been to disconnect/reconnect the cable between the TV and One Connect box and that seems to sort it out. Volvoman's solution sounds a bit easier though, so I will use that for now instead.
 
I'm getting it too with Sky Q going through and Xbox one S into my KS8000.

I have to press source on the remote to get a picture. Annoying!!
 
I have been following this latest update via a German forum at the same time and there are also so many complaints on the German forum related to this latest Firmware update, as such I have not even updated my KS9500 since Firmware 1140, have no idea what Samsung is doing but its not a good reflection of Samsung as a leading company.

Has anyone on the German forum had colour change on TV? I dont even understand how mine updated as was turned off.
 
I have not read any comments about colour changes a lot of issues regarding the smart apps, problems with the Amazon app, and a lot of issues (non software update issue) DSE/clouding.
 
So has anybody got the previous firmware image saved so we can drop back before 1160 ??!!
 
Has anyone else found that the blank screen problem has gone away today?

Mine seems to be working consistently, even though I am still definitely on 1160. Ill be out all day now, so will check again tonight.
 
Spent 30 mins on phone to samsung, disconnect everything (hdmis etc, one connect box).

They then reset remotely all hdmi connections - result still have problem.

When I phoned in they said they had no reported issues with 1160 software update reported - I said google it you'll find loads of unhappy samsung owners.

Since had email saying they are investigating issue and will keep me informed.

Not holding my breath !



If you haven't already please go online at www.samsung.co.uk/support and email them to tell them you have been having problems since the 1160 update. The more reports they get the more seriously they will take the issues, otherwise they will think its one or two people and take weeks to fix !
 
Since 1160 the "info" button on the standard remote no longer works, so cannot see what resolution etc a source is running in. The amazon app no longer seems to activate the HDR banner. Cannot be sure if it is running in HDR (other devices with amazon triggger the HDR). Source appears UHD but info banner in amazon app only ever goes to 1080P. Tried emailing Samsung but contact page just errors out after entering all my details.
 
Just got a reply from Samsung :
"We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. Please be informed that this issue has been raised already to our product specialist and now under investigation. We will keep you posted once we have an update regarding this matter."

We'll have to wait and see...
