Question Samsung F8500: Most choices grayed out

Novice Member
Didn't use to be this way, but now almost all choices in "Menu" are grayed out so I can't change them. E.g., under "Picture" all are grayed but "cell light". It's like this throughout. Is there a simple answer? Thanks in advance.
