    Hiya

I am aware that a hdmi source such as a Blue Ray player or satellite receiver connected to the TV will only pass through standard stereo via the optical out on the rear of the TV.

However, a DTV broadcast WILL pass through 5.1 digital to the AV receiver.

Will a USB connected or network source also pass through 5.1 to my AV receiver? I am guess yes because the TV is doing the processing? Otherwise I guess there would simply be no way to enjoy 5.1 sound from a USB source plugged into the TV.

    Please can someone clarify this.

    Thanks
