Samsung DVDR136 disc read problem

My samsung dvd recorder seems to be "spitting out" discs. When I put the disc in it rejects it.

The blank dvds are Sony DVD+RW (120 min / 4.7gb)

I thought perhaps the discs needed to be formatted but they seem to work on PC fine.
Is it just a question of trying another brand. Or trying plain DVRs??

Note that dvds play fine

DVD+RW is not listed as a recordable media in the Samsung specs for this machine :

this is bolox- so I can only use single use DVDs? what the hell is the point of that?

No - if you read the specs lists - it will accept DVD-RW discs.

Please do read the manual.
