Samsung DVD-HR735 owners

Hi all, got a bit of a tail of woe and looking for some info.
got the 735 2 months ago
plugged it into the Samsung tv using HDMI....no picture
phoned samsung ....better buy a new HDMI cable was the replie.
got new cable plugged it in no picture
phoned samsung.....we will arange for the unit to be uplifted
1 month later got the unit back. plugged it in no picture on HDMI
phoned samsung....we will arange for the unit to be uplifted
2 weeks later got it back pluged it in. no picture on HDMI
phoned samsung....we will arange to have the unit uplifted

in the meen time I noticed that if the unit was just plugged into the tv without the sky box it worked..

Phoned samsung.....
There is a compatability problem with samsung units and sky there is nothing we can do about it.

Has anybody else got this unit with a samsung tv if so did you get it to work with

sky --> scart --> DVD HR720 ---- HDMI ----> Samsung TV

Hi Bjorn

I've just got a Sammy LE37R88.
My Sammy DVD-HR735 is in the menders 'cus it stopped seeing certain discs.
When I get it back, I want to connect it using HDMI.
My TV has 3 HDMI connectors so I intend to use one for Sky HD and one for the DVD-HR735.
I can't see how any Sky/ Samsung incompatability will affect this set up but, when i get a chance to try it, I will let you know the result.:smashin:

I heard today that Samsung can't repair my HR735 due to 'parts not available' so it will have to be replaced. :rolleyes:
However, Richer Sounds do not have another Samsung with an equivalent spec so they are giving me a Panasonic DMREX77 :clap:

Therefor I will not be able to let you know if I get a similar problem to you - sorry.:(

Samsung can't make dvd recorders.

well since the last post,
replaced sky box --- nodifference
samsung then started to look at the tv,,,replaced the main boards in the tv
no difference
looked at the dvd again couldent fix it
samsung then said because on two occasions they could not find fault they would have to try to repair it again
...couldent fix it.
they then offered me a 750 in replacement...the 750 dont have hdmi out put
novel way of fixing an hdmi fault
so, the out come is after 4 months they will replace the unit with a 753
however this was 6 days ago and I still havent heard from them since
I might give them a phone today.

The most anoing thing is that Im now thinking of getting an av amp with hdmi up scale so I probably wont nead the HDMI on the samsung now ... ho hum

I dont think I'll buy samsung products again.
Has any one had good service from them?
