Thinking of getting the SAMSUNG DVD-HD850/XEU from comet today for £99 - any comments on it? Is it worth getting if you have an LCD 26" TV with HDMI? Also any downside to getting it from Comet, Richer sounds are doing it for £30 more than the comet price.

    Cheers

RS are doing the 950 for £30 more, which has more features.

Got the 850 at the weekend to go with my Hitachi 32LD7200 (which I'm still waiting for) but on my JVC 28" CRT the picture via S-Video surpases anything I've seen through it. Also tried it on a Panasonic Viera 37" Plasma via component and the player certainly does a better job of deinterlacing than the TV although I've heard that on the 850/950 component is not it's strong point but still impressed. Also had a guy set one up to a Hitachi in demo room via HDMI upsaled and was fantastic. No glitches either and easily remote hackable. Comes with HDMI but so I've heard its worth getting a decent one, QED etc.
