Edit: welcome to the fourth part of the C750 saga! The 3001_1 firmware has just been released, and people seem to find that it can break things... Carry on!

=============================

There's a (newer?) upgrade out, T-VALDEUC_-3001_1. I'm going to bite the bullet and install it, will come back to say if I can see any differences. There is some ghosting in 3D on mine, I'm just not sure whether it's bad or not.. I guess it's not, since it doesn't bother me THAT much.

What should it be like, compared to (say) a decent cinema 3D, or the IMAX 3D presentations?

EDIT: WARNING, this latest update seems to reset your settings!!!

Hi , thinking about getting this tv i noticed in last few pages a few people saying they have SQ01 panel on their 46inch. I have read else where the c750 is pretty much the only samsung that has exclusively SQ01 panels and thats it.

So does anyone else with this set have any other panel..?

Hi Guys, Does anyone have the same setup as me ?
I have the HT-C6930W/XEU and LE40C750R2KXXU, I do not watch digital or terrestrial TV. i only watch SKY (HD Box). My sky is connected to the HT-C6930W/XEU. Whenever i turn everything on, the HT-C6930W/XEU changes to 'D IN' so i change it to HDMI 1, and then a few seconds later it changes back to 'D IN' then i have to change it back to 'HDMI 1' then it is remains there.
I believe this is due to the samsung anynet connect software / settings.
This is really annoy, i have to od this evertime i wish to watch TV. What samsung anynet settings do i need to stop this happening. i just wish to turn the tv, home cinema and sky on, and instantly watch SKY, without having to change the chanel.
The really odd thing, it works perfect for PS3 Slim, if i just turn the PS3 on, the tv and surrond system turn on, and it stays on HMDI 2. perfect. If i turn the sky on nothign else comes on, i need to manually turn the tv and cinema on, then i get the stupid channel changing issue.
i emailed samsung and there useless reply was reset the sunnoung cinema, which of course does not work.

Oh dear....

The 2004 firmware turned my tv into an absolute dream, the 3001.1 has destroyed it!!!!

[email protected] no longer works, I keep getting network interference errors when using it, never had them before.

The xtalk has got worse, though not as bad as before the 2004 update.

3d optimisation crashes the Telly!

And the update deleted my settings.

I think I kept the 2004 download file so may reset the tv and try and install it.

Anyone else had problems?

I went from the 2002 firmware to the 3001 and have not noticed anyreal difference other than the 3d optimisation crashing the tv. If you have anyluck in getting it back to teh 2004 then let me know as i'm sure i have that file somewhere.:)

I normally jump on the firmware bandwagon but I think I will hold off on this one. The previous firmware actually improved my xtalk alot so I am sticking with it until it can be proved I will benefit.

What is re-assuring is that the firmware actually made a difference. I was beginning to think it was a hardware limitation but clearly they can still adjust it through the firmware. I can still get xtalk but it is barely noticeable so I am happy with that.

Hi Pxtreme,

I have updated and have similar issues, however InternetTV DOES still work for me. It did wipe my settings though.

I previously used your settings for 3D on 2004 FW and while I still had cross talk even then, it was bearable. Now it does seem to be a fair bit worse.

That said, the 2D picture does seem to have improved (difficult to describe how, seems clearer/crisper especially on SD - HD looks even more amazing than before).

I'm not sure if you can downgrade the FW (I seem to remember someone saying the update procedure won't allow it - but I could be wrong).

Even though this FW has messed things up, in a strange way this is a positive thing as it shows that crosstalk CAN be improved (and deteriorated) via FW - this is little comfort to those that have updated, but I remain optimistic of the fix that will inevitably come (for the optimization crash that we have if nothing else).

Fingers crossed that on the next update, which hopefully will be really soon, they will sort it out.

As you said it is reassuring to know that it seems to be a software issue not a hardware issue.

Hopefully the next one will the update that makes the tv super awesome. :lease:

I would like to know if Samsung programmers have tested this firmware....unbelievable...

I was waiting for new features...I asked for the compatibility of mpo and jps files. It's incredible how Samsung 3d tvs can't visualize stereoscopic photos.
Ok, I can use my PS3 and Playmemories software, but why turn on another hardware? C8000 tvs aren't tvs but computers...They runs apps, unuseful games and utilities...but don't visualize 3d photos...
I will sell my led C8000 and I'll buy a new Sony 3D tv. Sony is a serious company, releases few firmwares but they work.

I just wished, that Samsung would say something about the screen blanking problem, where screen turns black and sound goes away for a second or so. I have a nordic model of the TV, which is called LE40C755. So the problem not only comes from Amazon, I think its a worldwide problem.

I've mailed with Samsung, and they never seems to know anything about any problems :) And they just keeps on exchanging parts in the TV. I've had the main board exchanged, and I'm about to contact Samsung again for probably another exchange of a TV hardware part. I guess they could put in a new power supply or Backlight unit, but I'm not sure it would help anything. Then there is the panel itself, but is this the problem?

Got my Internet tv back. I discovered that the firmware update deleted my wireless network settings (I use the samsung dongle).

Anyone else with the same prob you will need to reconfigure your wireless settings.

Now just the increased xtalk and 3d optimisation problem to sort.

Amazon are doing the same kind of the deal but without the 5yr warranty, so don't think that's a misprice,
Great TV, specially at that price. Go for it.

I'm on my second screen, both purchased from Electrical Experience. First one blinked, maybe 3 or 4 times a day however I returned this screen due to an issue with dead pixels. Replacement screen hasnt blinked once in the 3 months I've now had it. All my equipment (Sky HD, PS3 ) / leads remained the same so there's definitely an issue. Only difference is my new one was manufactured in May and the one I returned was manufactured in July.

just an update from when the samsung engineer came on thursday in regards to my blinking screen, he said he would change the power supply which he has ordered and see if it cures the problem. while he had the tv apart, the wife said that he tightened all the screws inside the tv so to eliminate a loose connection or something like that. now the tv hasn't blinked once since thursday so maybe he's cured it by tightening all the screws. i'll keep you informed if it starts to blink again. cheers russ

Where can i find the manufaturing date? Is it in the serial number or something.

I've had mine a good 2 months (46" version bought from Richer Sounds), no problems whatsoever with blinking/blanking. In fact the TV has been great in every regard, the backlighting is superb, as uniform as I've ever seen on an LCD, great colours and black levels. Crosstalk is definitely present in a lot of 3D material but can be brought well under control through careful tweaking of settings (I'm also a firm believer that 3D isn't worth bothering with until the set has been on for 20 mins - it definitely seems to take time to 'warm up' for 3D). Overall I'm sincerely chuffed with this TV.

i know i am relative new comer to this set but so far all positive things to say.

It looks good, stand is beautifully designed, remote could be a bit sexier but it functionally menus can be a little confusing.

picture wise much better then my old samsung 26" screen, not seen any blackouts yet.

Crosstalk, well i have seen a little but i think that had more to do with the laptop on next to me, i shut the lid and it went away.

On a set up front can anyone tell me how to use the test patterns to get the picture right on colour?
