    Hi all,

I'm new to to the forums here but have been lurking about for a few months. I have a Samsung BDP1400 with the latest firmware v2 installed and hooked up to a Pioneer VSX-LX50 receiver.

Here is the problem: I set the BR to bitstream and then insert a BRD that has TrueHd (IronMan) and then go about starting the movie. I hear sound at the very start ie menu but once I start the movie I get no sound or indication that the movie is in TrueHD, the movie is playing but no sound. I can play the movie fine in PCM with sound but once bitstream is on, no sound. I have tried a few other movies and the same is happening. I have checked all cables as well and the are in the right place.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    TIA Dave

I just tried "The Incredible Hulk" with Ed Norton and no sound. I set the BRP to bitstream with PCM down conversion off. I hear sound at the menu but nothing once I started it. I'm wondering if I have a lemon player

    Hello,

ah, yes I have a HDMI cable from the 1400 to the Amp then from Amp to TV. I just went to check the cable from 1400 to amp and tried it in HDMI in 2 and the same still happens no sound.

Ok,bitstream is the correct setting and once chosen TrueHD "should" show on the amp, does DD or DTS light up on the LX50 with regular DVD via the 1400?

The TrueHd does not show up on the amp when but when playing a normal dvd DD does show up.

Maybe a setting on the amp? I would ask in the Pioneer forum as well.
