Samsung BD-F5100 Hack Code?

I followed the BD-D5300/D5100 hack, and it worked for me (I am in Malaysia, Region 3, firmware ver 1005):

Samsung BD-D5100 region code - VideoHelp.com

BD-D5300:
To change the DVD region (NOT BluRay region) of this player

2. Press REPEAT button (NOT REPEAT A-B)
3. Press 5 7 5 3 8 (or substitute for your region code, see below)
3. The current machcines region code will display at the top left (or right) of the screen
4. Press 9 to change the region to open-zone

Open-zone complete.

Other regions, substitute number in step 2 above with relevant code below:

1 - 29334
2 - 57538
3 - 56732
4 - 76884
5 - 53814
6 - 24462

I also have this problem software is ver 1004.1, I have been trying this hack and variations of it for a couple of days now. I'm in Ireland and thought I was getting the BDE5300 from Argos but when I got home it was the BD_F5100. I'm not sure if I can return it for a dvd multi region player. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I picked up this unit today from my local Tesco store where it was on sale for £20, I thought I had got a bargain! I have set it up, during testing I've found that it is locked to region 2. I've picked up some region 1 DVDs during the course of my collection so I want to be able to remove this restriction.

Pressing info gives the following:
S/W: BSP-F5100XUB-1006.3 (From the software upgrade screen I am offered BSP-F5100XUB-1009.5)
Loader: KH1700
Reigon: B/2 (BD/DVD)
Macrovision: BMS96
Model:BD-F5100_XU
Touch: BSP-F5100WWB-0x15

I've tried following the instructions above but with no response (the current region code is not displayed on screen) I've checked I am pressing the repeat button, not the repeat a/b button.

Anyone got any suggestions? I've tried searching the forum but there is hardly any info about this model (it's how I found this thread)

Cheers

Dinger :)

Any update on this?
I have just bought the BD-F5100 and want to make it region free.
