    Good evening all,

Need some advice from you experts.

I can get either of these for around 679, however with the NU8000 i can get a free samsung hw300 soundbar.

I can see from basic research the Q6 has slightly better performance.

    What would you go for?

    Thanks

I couldn’t comment on the soundbar but Crampton and moore on eBay have the q6 available for around £700 - so perhaps that might make your mind up :)

They are the same TV but the Q6FN has slightly more vivid colour when using HDR.

Lots of previous topics where people have decided between the two but my advice would be to get neither if you want good HDR from a TV.

    Hi Dodge,

Thank you, was hoping you would comment.

I have seen some previous threads with your posts but couldnt see difference between these two.

Is there a better tv in that price range then?

Mrs will be using it for box sets and movies, whilst i will be using it for sports

    Thank you

Haha whoops sorry, I read the price backwards - thought you said £769 not £679!

Depends on whether you want or need a/this soundbar I guess. I’ve read so many posts about these two TVs and the difference seems negligible. I’m waiting for the q6 to be delivered - superficially I preferred the q6 - but if I wanted/needed a soundbar I’d probably go with the nu8000.

Q6 should have a little more brightness in HDR and a more posh bezel/stand, silver if I'm not mistaken, and NU8000 has black plastic.

I have just purchased the QE55Q6FN and its gorgeous...I can not comment on the NU8000 but everywhere seems to suggest the Q6 is the better TV

No, its just that good HDR comes with a large premium and the Q6FN doesn't really "cut it" with HDR compared to more expensive models.
Its more than good enough for that usage, its only when you watch certain content that comes with HDR that you may be left wishing the HDR was better.

Literally the only difference between the NU8000 and the Q6FN is what I have already said about the slightly wider colour gamut, there is no difference at all otherwise. Including peak brightness.

It just means that compared to the NU8000 when you feed the TV a HDR signal it will be able to display colours better.

So if they were the same price but with the NU8000 you get a free £100 sound bar. What would you go for?

    Thanks

I would think a £100 soundbar isn't going to be very good anyway and just get the Q6 as its superior spec.

Then later down the line if I found the speakers to underwhelming I'd buy a better soundbar separately.

The HN400 didn’t review well here, so I’d presume the 300 is similar. Given that, I’d go for Q6 and wait to get a better option for sound.

Just got the 55Q6. Can’t speak for the alternatives but so far it seems like a decent TV for £680. Excellent blacks. Night and day compared to my 7 year old Sony. Think I would have been disappointed if I had paid the RRP but seems a good set for a god price. Hope that helps someone.
