    JIC any one is interested.

saw the 'star trek' 50 inch at local Costco today for 1664 (plus a few pence) IIRC.
this includes 3 year no quibble return and vat.

also mucho nice looking flat screen goodness but was pressed for time so didn't make notes - sorry.

Is it £1664 + 17.5% or, is the tax already added to that price?

That sounds like the exsclusive of VAT price - I'm sure its £1950 approx including VAT.

Also I think you'll find you can return it for pretty much any reason you like. Costco have an arrangement with all their suppliers and they take on the costs of returns - its down to their buying power I believe. I was told I could return mine if I decided it didn't go with the decor!

    Cheers

Mmm... so the Crampton and Moore can do it for £1800. Here for £200 more but 3 year warranty. Mmm.. tough choice. I will see if I can get a price match in Currys, and try to get some extra warranty, home cinema system and a HDMI player :)

BTW, I still haven't made my mind up what set to buy, this looks promising.

KableMan, you say you can return for any reason really, how many days is that within? 30? As I dont think you can get a refund after like 6 months, or can you. LOL!

Nope not at all - that is 1664 gbp including the VAT and three year cash back warranty. its quite some time now since this machine was at a price approaching 2k in Costco.

to answer other posts - its a no quibble cash back thing. Doesn't have to be broken. IIRC you get a six month one on PCs. Check their website or pay your nearest one a visit to get a flavour of the place and the prices.
The membership counter of the one in Watford always seems to have a large queueu

Are you sure its that price? I was in the Costco in Reading last weekend (the 5th) and it was definately 1664 + VAT. If it had been flat 1664 I would have bought it then and there!!! Which Costco did you see it at this price?

Don't think I was looking at the wong part of the price - have checked it twice on different trips.
then again to err is human... not going in the next few days so maybe someone that is can double check. or just ring them up.
If I am mistaken apologies. For sure their price for this set has always been a few hundred under anywhere else I have seen it. They had it for 1997 when it was going around 2.3/2.4k elsewhere.
Their prices on this kind of stuff normally very keen - as on most but not all things.
e.g postage stamps sell beneath face value (don't know how the manage that) but DVDs not a great bargain. DVD recorders etc/ fridges etc not badly priced. Office furniture etc great prices.
This sounds like an ad but no I am just a member, not a shareholder !
