I'm thinking of getting a Samsung 20"LCD TV (LW20M2CIX) to use primarily as a PC monitor. AT 399GBP this seems to be the most inexpensive way to get a decent sized flat monitor for my PC. The TV does have a PC input, so can be used with a PC.

Is this a good choice or are there any reasons for not going down this route. Alternative suggestions welcome.

Not good. Very low (VGA = 640x480) resolution if you are to believe retailers' sites/specs. Most (or all?) 20 inchers are, for some reason.

If you want this size, there's a higher res Sony 21, but I don't know if it has a PC input. Otherwise, strangely smaller and larger sets both typically have higher res.

Better off getting the Dell 20" 2005FPW or Dell 24" 2405.
Great widescreens for PCs with excellent specs for good prices.

    I recommend the 24".
