    Hi all;
    Just been reading the forum,
    I have been on the search for a 42" plasma, for two weeks now, and find it hard to make my mind up, It seems in most cases the Panasonic always comes tops.
    However walking into Hughes, I noted the 42" Philips ( sorry cannot remember model #), It sure looked good, sitting at a price of £1499.00, checked out with the sales man, who told me to hang on as there were some sales coming in after bank holiday, which will then set the Philips to £1299 comes with wall mount.
    Still undicided, but this may well be the case for others, so make some checks....

    If any one has got some good tips on which 42 plasma to buy. would be interested to hear views...
    I have £2000 to spend and not a penny more............
    Plasmas on my list at moment are , Hitachi, Philips & Panasonic....

    cheers..........

    You can buy the HD PS42S5H today for as low as £1500 online or for £1599 from John Lewis with a price match and get a 5 Year Warranty thrown in.

    Do you honestly believe Samsung would cut their pricing whilst Panasonic still charges another £700 at least for their HD model.

    Think about it! :lease:

    And if i guess correctly, if the price drop DOES happen, and i find it cheaper somewhere else within 30 days... i get that taken off the price i paid too? I take it you like the JL price match too :D

    You will find many many views on Panasonic, Hitachi and Samsung on this forum. Not so much on Philips.

    Also I think you need to be more specific on your requirements before anyone answers a generic question such as ... which 42 plasma to buy ?

    e.g. Do you want a HD screen (1024x768) or an SD screen (852x480)?

    Gussie :)
