Did anyone buy the optional stand for the Sagem HD-D45 and if so what is the width and height of the stand. I can't find any details in the brochure or user manual.

Sorry, thought this had been answered already...

    52cm high
    130cm wide (at front)
    65cm wide (at back)
    40cm front-to-back

Also, the 2 shelves have a gap of 23cm each.

How many standard sized dvd players could you get on each shelf side by side? I'm trying to work out if this stand could accomodate all my gear, it would be nice if it would! I'd be putting a Denon 3805, Sky+, Humax digital box, HTPC (Claritas case), Xbox and Pioneer 575A dvd player on it if possible. I'm wondering whether the screen will just be too high on this stand to be honest, could do with it being 4 or 5 inches lower really but I'm struggling to find a corner stand to use instead, most of the stands are rectangular but I want a corner one as the screen will be going in the corner of my living room. Any viable alternatives?

    Cheers,
    Andy.

I've ordered a HD-D45 too, decided that the available stand is the wrong shape since the unit will be placed in a corner.

I've been looking at units from Alphason, Stil and Optimum. They all now do corner units where the back corners are cut. Base of the Sagem is 650 according to another post on here. I'm just looking for a 650+ unit right now which will also accommodate a TiVo and 2 Freeview boxes.... although I might be adding a HCPC soon.

Have a look on EBay, I found a few authorised dealers offering good discounts on Stil and Alphason stands.

Why is the supplied stand the wrong shape, I thought it tapered in towards the back which is exactly what's needed for corner placement isn't it?

    Cheers

Not for me, I have a fireplace/marble grate close to the corner of the room which means I need a narrow stand.

Optimum Fusion 6503SL is 650mm wide, 8003SL is 800mm. Both are 400mm deep.

Assuming your DVD player is 43 cm wide, you'll fit 2 side by side - the practical internal width is 87cm.

In 2 minds what to do about the stand to be honest now. I'd like a fairly low one really as I think the screen is just going to be too high on the Sagem stand. Also the sagem stand is very wide at 130cm really. A rectangular one will take up too much room in the corner. I'm sure I'll find something though!

    Cheers

Think I'll probably go for the Optimum 8002SL, not as high as the 8003SL, reckon it should be at just about the right height on that stand.
