Hi folks, I just thought I would pass on my experience with DVD source.

    I have just "upgraded" my £500 Pioneer DV717 to a £100 Pioneer DV575a multi region .

    WHAT A DIFFERENCE !

connected via component , with progressive enabled..

The screen is now showing it's true colours (no pun intended)

and there is more to come, as I am just connecting the component sockets with some old standard video cables..

    happy days are here again..

I've found the performance is dependant on the quality of the source with the HD-D45. My TiVo output from Freeview suffers really badly with banding/solarisation on camera movement, but it's much better, almost non-existant when fed from a PC.

So I'm in the process of building a HCPC, playing with different software like Showshifter, Microsoft MediaCentre and Media Portal.
