Hello, I'm really thinking of buying a Sagem Axium HD56. I searched the forum up and down, but got no advise about the fan (or color wheel) noise of the 56" model (which can also bode well).

There where/are problems with the 50" and different opinions with the 45".

56" owners, can you please report about your experience.

    Thanks

There are definitely no severe problems with the 56:thumbsup: . I used to have the 50 and the fan is certainly less noticeable on the 56" but it is still there.;) I have never seen a rainbow (just saying that make it sound like something from never never land I know:D )

    Cheers:hiya:

It's never bothered me. The only time i notice it is when you first switch the tv on and it is warming up. for some reason there seems to be 10 seconds or so at that point where the fan is louder than usual.

have never noticed the fan whilst watching tv though.

I think that's the noise of color wheel... It increases at the transition between PC screen modes (loading game, starting PC) for a second.

I've NEVER heard anything even remotely like this on my Sagem 56!

P.S. I hate the Badge that is plastered right on the front of the Screen.

You can easily distinguish the fan noise from color wheel noise (if you are very close to theleft side of TV). Althrough they start spinning together when you switch on TV, the color wheel shuts down first when you switch the TV off and the fan is keep working for a some time.

I did find out the two different times the noise finished. But I was not sure if the noise which finish imeadetly after going to standby comes from the color wheel or from a possible second fan. It was this noise which made problems with resonance, as I wrote in the other thread.

Snap - was it not you who suggested perhaps a strip of carpet between the TV and the wooden stand? If not, then it has been suggested elsewhere and apparently it stops the resonance you are getting.:smashin: I was VERY impressed with your DLP pictures too BTW!
    Cheers:hiya:
