Sorry but this is another warranty-orientated thread. I emailed Johnlewis.com a week ago about the extended warranty for the HD-D45 as there has been much confusion regarding these warranties and whether they cover the lamp. This is the response I received: Thank you for your recent email regarding the Sagem Axium DLP Television. Please be advised that the bulb is not covered under the 2 year warranty; there has been a lot of confusion over this item and TV's from other manufacturers that have these bulbs in them. The best place for more detailed information would be the manufacturer themselves as we don't have the specifics to hand. I hope this information is of use to you and apologise for any inconvenience caused. Yours sincerely Andrew Norman Customer Service Representative Huh ??? All I can say is that this reply has generated even more 'inconvenience' and total confusion ! I somehow feel that this is a bit of a weird reply . My query to Johnlewis.com was whether the lamp was covered by the extended warranty, the reply suggests that it is covered by neither the manufacturer's warranty - not even for 1 year ! - or the extended warranty..... Oddly enough I nipped into a local Comet (yet again) & chatted about the Sagem & their extended warranty with a salesman. I specifically mentioned all this confusion about extended warranties and the lamp. He wasn't 100% sure if the lamp was covered by their extended warranty but asked his collegues about it and they said YES Though as stated in some previous postings, if Sagem gives 2 years for the set & 1 year for the lamp, then what happens if you have an extended warranty and the lamp dies in the 2nd year ??? Surely then it's not covered AT ALL because the extended warranty doesn't kick-in until the 3rd year I despair !
