I havent seen it yet but it sounds expensive considering its size....have you looked at any of the other 26-27" tv's on this forum that are half that price?

No harm in looking still ...John Lewis are ok about taking stuff back if it doesnt meet your requirements in the end (or youve seen one of the cheaper sets at half the price;)).....lets face it you could buy two of the others for the same price and I doubt there would be that much difference in quality of manufacture or picture for that matter :D

Well don't come crying to me 'boyo' (where did that come from, I'm not from Wales!!;)) next year when all the latest screens come out and you'd wished you'd put some money to one side when you see how cheap they are becoming :nono:
I hope you enjoy your latest aquisition (spelling?) anyways and spend many a long evening sitting and admiring it (or is that just me who does that;))

OOO I can help with that :) here try these people-highly recommended.....very efficient and helpful and competetive too selling excellent quality brackets :)

Ignore screen sizes as they are there for a guide only. As long as your set doesn't exceed 20kg you'll be fine. Mine was 13kg after taking off its weighty screwed on table-top stand :)

The Sagem 27LCD appears to have all the bells an whistles

and looks good to but does anyone have an update on this

model, as I've seen the Sagem HD-D45 and the picture quality

    was stunning.

It makes me so curious about the PQ of the 27LCD.

hi guys i have it now its very good looking set very slim and the stand moves up down left right speakers sound good though i wont be useing them got my telewest box connected by rgb scart and the picture varies to be honest some channels look ok others look quite pixlated in dark scenes but what do you expect from a low quality feed like cable.xbox looks brill in hidef 720p amped 2 looks cool wish more games where made in it as for dvd it looks very good but not amazing as i thought it would be might ivest in cheap dvdplayer that upscales to 720p.now for the best bit with my pc connected by dvi running at the screens native resolution 1280x720 the picture looks sublime especially when playing hidef demos detail and colour are perfect blacks are black.

    hi peahead

any more views on the sagem?,

I do like the look of the sagem, I have also heard about the philips 9976, which has the connections i'm looking for, but is £1000 more in JL.

However you can get it from tv and video direct for £1400 with no 5 yr warranty, so it's decision time… is it worth the extra money for the 32" screen?

    hi phetttt.
i also looked at the philips 9976 but didnt think it was worth the extra cash over the sagem plus the sagem looked better and has a slightly better inputs selection.

    latest views

picture quality when watching telewest cable isnt the best but it varies from channel to channel but live tv feeds seem to fare much better i watched the rugby today on sky sports 1 and the picture was more than acceptable aslong as you dont sit to close to the screen.i also played half life 2 on the screen today and it was fantastic and also tryed some divx hidef trailers which really did look fantastic.feed it a good picture and it will reward you with a good picture.

Thanks for your views on the sagem peahead :smashin:

the sagem looks extremely good but when you say as long as you dont sit to

close to the screen how close is to close, and is their much smearing on the

PQ as I dont see the response time quoted anywhere.

    hi puffer

I am only sitting 1 metre away from the screen which is way to close i now but once my room is sorted it will 2.5 metres. fast moveing scenes show no signs of smearing england game looked fine and pc gameing looked better than my 17"nec 16ms tft monitor which shows some smearing in games.

    Hi peahead,

pleased to hear your enjoying the sagem, I was looking at one in comet, and before comparing the picture quality with the other 26in LCD panels there, found I was particularly impressed by the good looks of the panel.

The PQ was as good as the so called propriety brands even on a RF feed showing terrestrial TV.The picture was properly zoomed in to fill the screen, although the other panels were displaying black lines top an bottom and seemed to squash the picture out of proportion.

If I was looking at this price range the sagem would be high on my list but for now I am thinking about the Acer AL2671W as a cheaper alternative although realise it wont be as good but looks promising for this price.
