    Hi all
Are the specifications for Sky's HD service next year sufficiently finalised to be safe to buy a screen / panel to display it now, or should I wait till spring 06, when it's all expected to launch?

Until BluRay or HD-DVD comes along the only HD sources used for connection to this screen will be Sky's service, so it's vital for me that the screen is targeted for best possible reproduction of their new service - but it is official yet what specifications I would need?

If so, is it the probable "can't do better than the pv500" position or are there imminent alternatives to consider?

    Thanks for looking

    PS
I am talking about a 37" or 42" model in black or silver.

I reckon you are safe to buy now. HD ready means 720p and 1080i both @ 50 Hz over HDMI or DVI with HDCP. Lots of acronyms there but buy an HD ready display and you should be safe.
