    Hi,

I am thinking of putting together a stereo separates system for my bedroom. I would like a SACD player, but I would also like the system to decode HDCDs - are there any SACD players that can do both? If not, I would have to buy a stereo amplifier that can decode HDCDs but I can't seem to find one, this only seems available on surround amplifiers, or am I missing something?

I would mainly be listening to this system through Sennheiser HD 600 headphones - I'm presuming I would get good sound through the headphone output of a decent quality stereo amp?

    Thanks in advance,
    Sally

How much do you want to spend? It is pivotal to your question because obviously there are (expensive) players that do what you need, or some older second hand gems that probably do a very good job. Also consider a purpose built headphone amp to drive your Sennheisers, rather than a full sized jobbie.
