s97 vs sam 850 dvd player

    hi all
    i need some help in need of upgrading dvd player
    either the panny s97 or sam hd850
    or any other suggestions for around £200
    dvd will be hooked up to panny pv500 plasma
    help/suggestion greatly appriciated

    DOnt waste you money on cheap nasty HDMI players and waste your only HDMI input

    I go for S97. At least according to the secrets DVD review, there is a large gap between the performance of S97 and HD-850. S97 scored 91 and HD-850 76. With this scores, S97 has even a higher score than Denon 2910 and is just shy of 5910 and 3910!

    I would recommend the S97 i am using this connected via hdmi to my panny-pv500 and haven't had any problems at all :cool: The picture quality is - top drawer, great value for money imho :)

    HK DVD25 (£100 S/H) the DVD 22 isnt bad but the 25 is the better player IMO
    Denon DV2900 Arcam DV88+/89 get a demo first and most new DVD players are made of much cheaper components and lower quality finish than machines of 2-4 years ago
