I use a free firewall - Sygate Personal Firewall 5.6 - and since enabling S3 standby have noticed that it struggles when the PC wakes up.

Most times when I open it from the systray I can't move the application window, so need to restart, and I have just noticed that it was incorrectly blocking some traffic.

So how can I trust it's blocking stuff it should?!

What free (legit please) firewalls are you guys using? Do you have such problems?

    thanks

    BUMP.

Surely someone has a software firewall and MCE that goes in and out of S3?

Can you just tell me which one you have and if you have any problems.

    thanks

Hmm... using XP Sp2 built-in firewall... plus a firewall in the router, works well.

Unfortunately that doesn't block outgoing traffic. Thanks for the response though.

    Any others?
