Hmmm, looking to get a sony fs66 with the all in one 550 set up.
but I just read you can only connect via s-video and that its not as good as scart.
Is there a lot of difference?

The difference between RGB scart and s-video is a big debate! It basically depends on your tv and dvd player.
personally on my phillips tv the RGB is far superior but my mother in law's sony tv sems to have very little difference.

Hi ubik,

If you want to make use of the superior NTSC progressive scan component output from the DAVS550 (MR of course), why not go for one of the Toshiba ZD26 or ZT29 series TVs? This should give you a better picture than using the S-video connection.

thanks dutch, but i've gone that route because of budget,
i can get the fs66 for £800 price matched from JL and then either a free dvd player or £100 off the 550 system ie £350. so the total is £1150. I did look at other stuff but its out of my budget and i want a whole av system for less than £1400 with 5 year warranty

richer sounds are selling the DAV550 for £299 mate :)
