Can anyone out there answer me this. Can you get a lead that goes from s-video to scart to enable me to connect a DVD to a TV.
My dvd only has an s-video output which is okay at the moment as my very old 4:3 has an s-video input at the back.
As I want to buy a new widescreen tv but they only have s-video sockets on the front.

PS can I please have any comments on widescreen TV's in the £700 to £800 price bracket.

    Cheers

    Frosty

All new TVs have SCART sockets which can take a variety of inputs including S Video, RGB, composite etc etc.

Others can take component pictures through phono leads.

Some have dedicated S Video sockets, but as these are mainly used for cameras, they tend to be on the side or front.

Check our the spec of your new TV when you buy it...

Yes, you can buy S-video din and L & R audio phono to SCART.
Check that the signal going in the direction to the SCART as they can go the opposite way. Some are switchable.

Check out www.cpc.co.uk, but AVOID their 'cheapo' range, i.e under £5 as they DO give an inferior picture.

    or

    www.maplinselectronics.co.uk

Most Hight St electrical retailers should also stock them.
