    Hey guys

I have a Toshiba 27wl46 tv and just bought a Limit DVD player. As i use the 3 scarts on the tv for freeview, PS2 and VCR, I decided to buy a scart to SVHS lead to connect the dvd player to my tv. As it arrived this morning I have hooked it up to no avail. The picture doesn't appear. I then tried to hook it up with a scart and it works fine. Is there anyway that the scart to svhs will work? I am reasonably clued up on connecting things together, but know very little about SVHS.

Any guidance very much appreciated as I would like to keep my set up as it is and use the SVHS for the dvd player. If this is not possible i will have to just use the VCR without a scart i suppose.

    Thanks in advance

Does your DVD player output S-Video via scart? Many don't.

If it does then make sure that you have a scart -> S-video lead rather than an S-Video -> scart lead. :)

As eviljohn has indicated, s-video to scart leads are directional so make sure that yours is the correct way round. Additionally it will probably require some configuration within the menu's as the DVD player will probably not output s-video unless it is set in the picture menu.

That will only work properly if you have the scart plug at the TV end and the flying plugs at the DVD end. You should still get a black & white picture out of it though. :)

oh well, waste of a tenner then. Suppose I will still use it to connect my dvd to the tv via scart and will just have to use the vcr with the aerial cables.

    Thanks for the quick response
