I am using the S-video output for watching DVD's on my Pioneer-444 player.

I notice on the player's setup screens, the video options has two S-video settings to choose from: S1 and S2.
What's the difference between the two and how do I know which one to go for?

I might be wrong but I think S1 is directly from the SVHS connection and S2 is from the SCART socket, but dont quote me on that!

From page 28 of the manual

Reading between the lines, I think [S1] has widescreen signalling disabled.
