S-Video output problems

Hi,
I have a Apple Laptop with S-Video output which i want to hook up to my VCR so i can record some animations onto video.
The problem is this; i have a scart converter which i hook the s-video into the vcr but the image im getting is Black and white (if i go direct into my TV i can get a colour signal no problem) any ideas?

I have a feeling my VCR can not use s-video. If this is the case is there something i can get which will convert the s-video output to composite so i can connect this way instead?

you can get an svideo to composite converter from maplin and a few other places for less than £4... (keene etc).

I have done similar with my laptop going into the vcr... just to see if it works.

thanks everyone, i got a s-video to composite converter from maplin today and it all working fine now! in full colour!
