s-video cable sound and vision

    hi all looking for good quality s-video cable that does sound and vision as i need it for camcorder-i have a s-video cable but this just does picture-anyone know where i can get one-cheers

    S-Video connection is a picture only connection. No S-Video cables will carry audio.
    To get audio out from a camcorder when useing an S-Video lead just connect the jack to 3 phono lead that is normally supplied with the cam and just don't use the yellow composite video RCA.

    Possibly your Camcorders uses a six pin min din for Video + Audio as opposed to the 'standard' four pin min din used for S-Video (which as MarkE19 says is a video only interconnect).

    To be pedantic, scart leads will carry S-Video and audio although that doesn't help in this situation. :)

    To be even more pedantic:

    A scart cable is a scart cable and not an S-Video cable, even though scart can carry an S-Video signal. My post did state that no S-Video cable can carry audio!

    Shall we see how long we can keep trying to outdo each other? :devil: :suicide:

    No such thing as an S-Video cable, it's just a 3-core cable with mini-DIN at either end. :laugh:

    I'm done, I think we've made the points. :)
