    I'm in the process of making an s-video cable for a mate of mine and I have everything all ready to rock and roll. For the life of me however, I cant remember the wires in the s-video cable and what they represent.

    I have a red and a green wire and inside them little wires. If my memory serves me right, the RED wire carries chroma (colour) ? and the green carries (brightness) ? and its the outer wire thats ground and the inner wire that carries the signal ?

    Can somone confirm please, im a bit lost, its been a long time.

    erm colour is irrelavent as every manufacturer use different ones. have a google for the diagrams. which ends are you using? as I have found some S-video ends very very tough to solder.

    Saw something recently which listed the following for the standard svhs 4 pin plug. No colours though.

    1 Ground
    2 Ground
    3 Luminance
    4 Chrominance

    Luminance = Y
    Chrominance = C
