Hi guys. Currently have a Panasonic SKY box which does not have s-vid out. Want s-vid out for connection to LCD screen which has no scart. Could go for the RGB to S-VID converter from JStechnology, but this would be £75.

Thought about the alternative which is to upgrade the Panasonic SKY box and get something more powerful, but will still let me use my SKY card. I have SKY+ upstairs which has s-vid but don't want to move it and don't want a second SKY+ box. Started looking at other Sat receivers - DREAM etc, but know sweet fa about them.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Appreciate your help!

Grundig make/made a Sky Digibox that has s-video out on the back. I don't know the model number, but They have a few on Ebay.

A SCART TO S-VIDEO CABLE DOES NOT CONVERT ANYTHING.

Scart is a plug type not a signal format.

    Grundig GDS 210/2, 310/2, GDS-3000 all have s-video out as does Sky+.

    Caps intentional, sorry.

    Mike.

Agree, cable does not convert, so the converter is essential. Thanks very much for the Grundig info - I knew someone on here would come up with a solution.

    Excellent, thanks

    Hi Sinbrad.
Will a Skybox output s-vid via the scart socket? I was under the impression that it was rgb or composite only. Thanks in advance.

Most cheap so called scart-svideo cables leave the buyer with a black and white picture, they are for the most part intended for a STB which outputs s-video via the scart socket.
You have to make sure you are getting a cable/convertor which actually does take RGB from the scart and converts it to s-video at the other end amd they are more expensive.
