Hey - just wondering when the weather is bad if running on the spot is just a waste of time or you still get something out of it ?

    cheers,

I find running on the spot pointless, it's effectively just knee ups, if you want to do knee ups you must as well run outdoors lifting your knees up higher, good for building calfs/thighs - not bad for you though.

When you run you're pushing yourself, which is working more muscles and working them harder and is more cardio vascular. I believe you work your abs and other more with moving too.

    Upward propulsion vs forward propulsion.

Forward is both upwards and forwards

If you get a sweat on, or you get out of breath, or even if you just get a bit tired, then you're definitely getting something out of it. :)

Any kind of burn is a burn, but it's mostly down to diet and exercise, burning more calories than you consume etc... you could sit in your chair doing leg lifts and still burn...

    - Speaking as a proper gym monkey, and also a Wii Fit owner...

Anyone who can't afford / be bothered to go to the gym, should definitely buy Wii fit instead..

I do an hour's Wii fit on my nights off from the gym.

30 mins yoga, 10 mins Hula hoop, 20 mins other fun stuff.... :smashin:

Above post is true, also anyone wanting to get started out into fitness Wii fit is an excellent way to do it, helps with keeping it fun, easy and in the privacy of your own home, perfect for anyone starting out, not really much use to anyone who's already into a fitness schedule though to be honest.
