I have wall mounted my LCD screen and have managed to run the AV cable behind the screen, through the plasterboard, up to the loft, across the loft and down through the ceiling to the back of the room into my AV receiver. I have now obtained a fully tested 6.5 metre mains cable and would like to run this through the same path as the other cable to completely hide all cabling.........however i am not to sure if this is a good idea or not? Can someone please advise. Cheers Martin
What is your worry? Is it cross talk or electrical safety? Neither should concern you. Route it as far as possible from signal cables - radiation reduces on a squared basis. Keep away from anything hot or pointy, for example nails that missed the joists. Then you should be OK. If in doubt consult a sparky
If you can, keep them a couple of inches apart. Make sure, when in the loft, run the mains cable above insulation, not under it. Johnny.
