How long does this generally take?. Any experiences. My HK AVR 630 is quite a recent purchase (about a month ago) and I've suddenly noticed the sound 'mellowing' out. How long should an initial 'burn in' period take.

Also, is it necessary to have the equipment actually on and playing all the time to run it in?. Does having it in standby have any effect?. Do you all leave your amps on 24/7?.

Anyhow, whatever is happening, its good because I keep feeling more inclined to crank the sound up to higher levels!. BOOOOOOM  !!!. Rattle those shelves! Heh!.

    Cheers.

PS - sorry, too much beer there......

Part of that is no doubt psychological, as you don't have an accurate memory of what it sounded like a month ago; you've also adjusted to the sound yourself:)
