According the manual the running in time will be a few hours. I think that's a bit short

My AV32R was recently upgraded to the DP version. I noticed that the mainboard was totaly replaced (with a 2001 version). Perhaps because mine was one from the very beginning.

It's now 4 day's later and I still miss liveliness and airiness between the instruments i.c.w. the AV32R SP (played 12 hours a day and one whole night).
There are also improvements of course (better bass and hights, cleaner, better pin-pointing) but the stage is still little small and it sounds a little 'plastic-like'.

Has anyone the same experience and how long took it to get better? I can't belief that the DP is worse then the SP at this point.

Dunno, our stuff always worked well straight out of the box once warmed up. They would have left the thing on for a good while when they tested out the upgrade (possibly overnight or 48 hours even) so I doubt it needed that much running in.......As no-one else has said this about the DP (and it certainly was better than our SP) I wonder if all your settings are right? bass re-direction, crossover point, TMREQ etc.......

TMREQ is off and I listen in direct mode without a sub.
Other settings (speakerdistance, soundlevel etc.) are all doublechecked.

A friend of mine has de SP version. After a few weeks we will have a shootout between the two units.

Beats me, the difference was pretty obvious even straight out of the box with our DP. I know Steve did some work on the whole bass/time alignment thing in a recent version of the software, but I'm not sure the work spilled over to the SP? Maybe it is this difference that might take a bit of gettig used to. The centre soundstage in direct mode on our DP and AV192R is spot on.
I'll be curious as to what you think of them side by side when you do your shootout.
Maybe just a case of re-adjusting your ears to suit the new processing, I think you will be happy with the result.

Make sure you have a box of tissues handy for your friend.
When he hears the AV32 DP he will weep with astonishment.

Baring in mind that the AV32 SP kicks butt :zonked: .

After little improvements in time, suddenly on the ninth day everything we were missing was back....and even better  .
@Graham; Well, we're positioned in the Netherlands. If you don't mind a little travel..........

I will keep everyone posted here about the results.
There are two sets we will testing in:

    Besides the AV32R's:
    1. Martin: TEAC P2, Krell KSA300s, Wilson Audio Watt/Puppy, Transparent cables
    2. Blue-Eyes: TAG McLaren CDR20T, Mark Levinson No.331, JBL Ti-K 10, MIT cables

    And Jack brings his DVD32FLR.

In the middle of Holland, the newly build part. We create a dike, throw some water away and build some houses. One of them is Martin_M's :p

On the 9th day the soundstage became more open. There was more air and lively sound.

I gave it a thought. My Transparent speakercable could also be the guilty part in this. Transparent cables must always 'settle in' when there is a change in the set. However 9 day's is quite a time....

It will do 189 miles on a tank with "sprited" driving....... I once entered a 50 minute endurance race and ran out of fuel on the last lap but was going fast enough to finish (tank was full at the start, 13.1 gallons......you do the maths.....). I've just seen a 5.2L version of my engine, I really really want it........
