Running in a new rear projection tv

What's the recommended approach to running in a new rear projection tv? Is it okay to display films / programs in their correct aspect ratio or to stick to 16:9 'til the system's been run in over a few weeks?

Presumably, it's best to use the tv on economy setting to reduce the possibility of screen burn, etc.

I've just bought the Sagem 56".

Many thanks!

It doesn't matter, you can't get screen burn on RPTV.
Eco mode just affects bulb life, but I find normal too bright anyway.

Many thanks! My decision to buy a rear projection system was recent so my mind's still full of plasma related things!

Great to know I can proceed without worrying!

Not *strictly* true - DLP or 3LCD can't get screen burn, but the older 3xCRT variant could burn quite easily due to the high brightness levels the CRTs were driven at..... ECO mode is a good idea as it reduces power requirements and adds around 1-2000 hours to the lamp (taking the life from 6k to approx 8k hours in the case of the Sagem).
