    Hello

Is rs8 much better than rs6? Price difference in our country is 180 EUR.
Will you buy rs6 or rs8?

    Thank you.

    Hiya,

I've got some RS6's here, not had chance to listen to them in my place yet. I did have a demo of the RS6 / RS8's in the shop prior to making the decission. Personally for my needs and room size, I thought the RS6's were more sutible. They are amazing speakers by the way! :)

Is there no way you could get a demo? this would help a lot with choosing.

I'm sure someone can go into a bit more detail than I have, as they've more that likely ran the speakers in some.

I know I'm not much help here, but I personally preferred the RS6's for the reason stated above.

I just place an order for rs6,rsfx,rslcr and rsw12
My room is not very big, it's 3x3,5 meters (10x13 foot) and I think rs6 is enough.

I can't do demo, I bought in online store.

    hello to forum.
i had same speakers in mind and also hadn't chance to demo.
    but i choose rs8 cos
    1) i try to manage without sub and rs8 has stronger bass
    2) got them cheeper (used ones)

Hoping that my room don't get too small for them (20m2), but if it does or those sounds bad, i think i should be able to sell them with same price or better.

    Hello Lubej,

What sort of amplifier are you using at the moment ?

As choosing the right amp to match the MA Silver RS6's is a important as the size of your room.

    :)

I demoed both the RS6 and RS8 before buying the RS6. There was no-way a £200 improvement with the RS8, indeed, I thought the bass was a little too much from the 8s and detracted from the overall sound.

The RS6s produce wonderful bass if you power them with something decent

I also demo'd them both. And I found the rs8 to be head and shoulders above the the rs6. The problem is the need an amp with grunt and lots of room to breath. If you don't give then space they sound bloated and ott.

    Better still. Demo the gs10

    Hi kidloco,

That's what What Hifi said when they tested the MA Silver RS8's the bass can be a boomy and overblown if not given room to breath or not using the right amp.

I'm sure if I bought the RS8's and connected it to my MF A5cr Pre & A5cr Pwr amps it would definetly have an ovebearing bass.

Your setup is more than capable of getting a grip of the bass. My roksan Kandy iii was. The rs8 sounded great in the huge demo room but when I tried them at home I found I had to have them at least a metre away from any wall to control the bass. And I just didn't have the room for that. They sounded terrible where my gs10 are now. Which is around 30cm away from wall.

    Hello

At the moment I have very old onkyo tx-sr500 which will be very quickly replaced with one of the next amp:
    -onkyo 876(906)
    -yamaha 1900(3900)
    -pioneer LX71(LX81)

What will you choose. I don't know which of this receivers is best match for ma silver series.

    Thank you.

I don't know about best as i've not listened to the MA Silver speakers through anything other than the Pioneer LX71. However i did audition the MA set up with my LX71 yesterday. As you can see from my signature i'm now the proud owner (or will be when they arrive!) of 2xRS6 2xRSFX and 1xRSLCR.

They were fantastic and far surpassed what i'd expected from them before going into the demo.

Whether or not they'll sound even better with an Onkyo or Yamaha amp i've no idea, but i can't fault them so far when plugged into the Pioneer.

    Highly recommended.
