In the states there are models of RP and CRT TVs which have a good enough resolution for the display of PC desktops.... I know this is because of US HDTV but do any TVS in the UK come with VGA connections or have high res ability?

I'll bet theres one model or two somewhere!

(idea is to use this TV for a year or so while waiting for plasma tech to become better and the displays cheaper)

    TIA :p

You can get a Loewe Aconda with a VGA board.

Top resolution is 848x480@60Hz or 720x576@50Hz.

I'm not sure the Loewe would fall into the category of a stop gap though
