I have a large, triple aspect lounge with two patio doors at the north, two small windows to the east and two large windows to the south. The north & south walls are 5m wide, the east & west walls are 7m long.

My TV is currently on the north wall, between the two sets of patio doors. We do have some glare on the TV at times, but it isn't too bad.

However I'm thinking of getting a RPTV (the ex-demo Grand Wega at Robert Whyte sounds nice!) but am concerned about it's ability to give a good picture in a bright room.

Oh, and while I'm asking..... Does anyone have any views on how sturdy RPTV's are with a two year old hooligan running round? The Grand Wega stand in particular looks flimsy to me!

    Thanks.

Mine is in a fairly dark room so i dont have bother with tyhe light. However, with a 2 year old running around you will have to be very careful with the screen of the tv. They are only plastic and are very easily broken or scratched.

    cheers

Add to that, the screen is very expensive to replace. The black bands in the lenticular (the ribbed screen) are easily scraped off and replacing it might involve replacing the diffusion (Fresnel) screen as well. That costs at least in the whereabouts of £500. If the set has a shiny protective screens, they are probably costly to replace too.

So probably not a good idea then with our two year old around. :(

    Thanks for the advice.

Light and a RPTV are as good together as a [IMG] and light
