RP TV on the wane??

    I notice comments on RP TV are falling off on this site and also I was flicking through "What Video" 'annual reviews' today and there wasnt one single rear Projection TV in it!!

    Im just wondering if RP TV is dieing a death!!
    Any comments anyone??

    RPTVs are, at best, a stop-gap technology - a means of getting a large picture from CRTs (a technology which is decades old) without the accompanying weight of large direct-view tubes.

    I think, inevitably, as flat-panel technologies improve and/or become more cost-effective, they will supplant RPTVs as the preferred method of getting a big picture (and a small one, for that matter).
