Is it down for anybody else ? I am able to use it on my Mobile but not my PC... really odd. I type in my tracking numbers and nothing comes up

I contacted RM and they suggested clearing my cache and tried many different browsers, which i have done but hasn't fixed it?

I've tried Edge, Chrome, IE and Firefox.
Neither of them work, but they work fine on my phone ?

If it works via one method and you’ve got the information you need surely it’s a moot point?

Yes, but if you follow that logic, you don’t get to start a new thread ;)

Why aren't you copying and pasting on your phone too? Even if not, won't your mobile browser autofill with the last entry when you're in the tracking number box?

I wish there was a way to 'trace' things that go AWOL when sent standard post.

Something off eBay sent to us 2nd class on 5th May still hasn't arrived.

The sender will insist they sent it, we will insist we haven't seen it and the loser will be us and the seller will get away with it if they never sent it.

But assuming they did, there must be a mountain of undelivered parcels somewhere.

And as I've been a postie, I know that's more than feasible.

Ah the joke that is Royal Mail's Track and Trace, a service that is flakey at worst and pointless at best with so little information provided as to the whereabouts of the item.

No they wont. PayPal will refund you if the seller can’t provide evidence of using a tracked service, which is required by PayPal.

Thanks for this. Though I have the PayPal, I paid using credit card - will that make a difference?

But was is through PayPal but just paid on credit card?
If not, then obviously you have no recourse with them, but eBay should still help.

Bog standard paid with credit card, I think nothing to do with Paypal, thanks anyway - I can contact eBay support.

I've lived at this address for 13 years and only ever had one item go "missing" (a stolen gift). Though, I admit, I've lost count of the amount of items that had to be replaced by the seller as the original just went AWOL.

I think that's pretty good going on a system that is fundamentally reliant on trust, it could be a lot worse.

The vast majority of standard 1st and class parcels have a 2D barcode now, we scan the barcodes on delivery and this gives a delivery conformation plus a GPS trace on the exact scan location which RM can check if a customer claims an item has gone missing. If you look at your proof of posting there will be a long tracking number, even for standard items.

There are a couple of issues - on soft packaging the barcode can get crumpled to creased and won’t scan, and on small parcels the barcode is often folded around the edge which again won’t scan. The end game is 100% of parcels scanned and we’re already getting there fast. Our office successfully scans over 95% of barcodes.

FWIW I’ve had 6 or 7 complaints of non-receipt over the last couple of years, I remembered delivering each one and every single one was traced back and confirmed scanned at the customers address. Meaning there are a whole lot more dishonest customers than there are dishonest RM workers ;)

Thanks @NorvernRob after all that the parcel turned up today while we were out.

One colour was white instead of red but... but... we'll take it!

Some days it works, some days it doesn't

Try it on your phone, funnily enough it always works via mobile.
