    Hi all

my telewest broadband modem is one room and my pc is in another (40 ft apart) i normaly just trail a network cable around the skirting, but the wifey wants to decorate and dont want the cable showing :(

so realy all i need to know is if i buy a wireless router and plug my modem into that and use my wireless card on my pc in a different room will it work? or do i have to have a pc in the router to make it work?

(see i said it was a daft basic question)

    regards
    jason

You need to connect the router to set up the connection but you can then just use it for wireless.

Yes, as long as your broadband modem has an ethernet connection, you just connect that to your wireless router and away you go.
