This is what I really want, and the annoying false ending thing cleaned up.

Sorry guys this ISN'T going to happen. Saruman does not make it to hobbiton in the Jackson scheme of things and there'll be NO Scouring Of The Shire.

He felt that having a climatic end followed by another was not good cinema.

There's a previous post of mine with some pictures that clearly give away what happens to Saruman. The Gameboy Advance game also backs this up.
However, if you check out that previous thread it contains MAJOR SPOILERS.

Can you use the bookends as bookends or are they just for decoration? How heavy do you think they are. I have bought the 4 disc edition on its own before for the last 2 films but may got for this one. What are the statues made from do you think?

Are you talking about The Return of the King? If so they are not book ends but little pots by the looks of it...
The Fellowship of the Ring bookends are plenty heavy enough for the job :smashin:

That might bring my marks down for Return of The King. It would have been nice if they could have had two different endings to choose from on the second disc.

Peter Jackson did make it clear right from the start that there would be no Tom Bombadil and no Scouring of the Shire - I am fairly happy with that decision... What I would like to have seen in ROTK was a more epic final war - what was included was good, but where were the dwarves, where were the other races of men? I think there needed to be at least a few references to other battles further north even if they couldn't show them. I also would have liked to have seen Gandalf do a little more wizardry during the fighting - hopefully the inclusion of his face-off with the Nazgul will make up for that.

I see Play have the 4 disc extended version available as a pre-order now.
At £26.99, it's a bit more than the other 2 which are £17.99 for FOTR and £13.99 for TTT.
