I have been trying to get hold of a ROTel 1075 power amp today but all the local shops that I called say they do not do it and can not get it , even those who advertise selling Rotel.
Can I buy one online or by phone ???

    You could try:
    www.lintone.co.uk

They certainly had Rotel stuff (but you cannot buy it on-line)

Audio Excellence of Exeter (01392491194) had one as of Wednesday(ish) last week - don't expect ANY discount from them however.
The manager Mike is without doubt the meanest sod i have ever met.

Leicester Hi-Fi Co. Stocked them about 6 months ago when I got mine.
    Nice discount too.

Terrible Rotel service round my way..

No dealers stock the stuff, so impossible to get a demo.

And trying to swing a discount on a special order..? :rotfl:

Leicester HiFi usually have the 1075 in stock or can get it in 2-3 days. Will also give you a 10% discount. Not sure if they will send stuff out via a courier for you though.

Have you actually heard the Rotel in comparison with the power amps of your Pioneer ... unless your speakers are difficult to drive and you want to listen at high level I wouldn't have thought it would make much difference to sound quality - was there something in particular you were wanting to improve by adding the power amp?

I purchased the pioneer without really taking any advise , I have now found that it is not meant for 4ohm speakers which the celestions are , it has therefore been suggested that I add a power amp , I know that it is not perfect as I may as well have purchased the full rotel kit with a processor but didnt realise I had this problem.
The amp sounds very good at the moment as it is but to get it reasonably loud you need to put it on about -20 and I have noticed the amp getting quite hot so I think the speakers may be driving it a bit hard, I dont really want to blow it up!

You will never blow it up ... it will have protection to stop damage happening.

If you're not in a hurry to buy ... might be worth hanging on and seeing if a 1075 or 985 turns up second hand as they do often get sold.

If it's help to anyone, Sevenoaks Chelsea said they'd sell me a Rotel 1075 for £800 (RRP £845). They don't have it in stock but can get it from Rotel within a day or two.

Let us know if you get hold of one and how you get on with your 2011. I was going down the same route but have opted to stick with what I have at the moment as only my rear speakers are 4ohm. If you are running at -20 for DVD movie play back that is about the same as my set-up, never really go above -10 though!

Still intrested in how the 2011 perform with the Rotel though!
